DMCC Breaks Ground on Second Phase of Uptown Dubai

DMCC has initiated the second phase of its Uptown Dubai project, showcasing its commitment to enhancing and expanding its real estate offerings. Swissboring Overseas Piling Corporation has been appointed for the enabling and foundation works.

In the upcoming phase, two mid-rise towers will be constructed in the Uptown Dubai district, situated in the heart of new Dubai’s southern end. These towers, spanning 23 and 17 stories, will provide around 70,000 square meters of Grade A commercial office space and 8,000 square meters of F&B and retail space, maintaining the premium standards of the urban community.

Upon completion, Uptown Dubai will feature a total gross floor area of 538,000 square meters, with 232,000 square meters allocated for commercial office space. With the addition of these towers to the district alongside Uptown Tower and the residential towers within Mercer House, more than half of the planned towers in the district have now been launched.

The nine towers surrounding The Plaza will offer a variety of activities, from immersive art installations to music, film, and fashion performances. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DMCC’s Executive Chairman and CEO, emphasized the organization’s dedication to realizing Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for a world-class business district in Dubai.

Swissboring’s work will concentrate on basement retention systems, foundation works for the towers, podium levels, future bridges, dewatering works, and excavation for the entire plot assigned to phase two.

The commencement of the second phase follows the opening of Uptown Tower in 2023, which houses 31 leading businesses and serves as an urban luxury hotel with branded residences. DMCC, building on the success of JLT, aims to establish Uptown Dubai as a world-class urban destination by partnering with renowned consultancies like WATG and AS+GG.
