One Za’abeel, the iconic landmark developed by ICD (Investment Corporation of Dubai), proudly announces that it has secured the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the ‘Longest Cantilevered Building’ globally with its panoramic sky concourse, The Link. This milestone was solidified on March 1, 2024, marking One Za’abeel as the most recent addition to Dubai’s extensive collection of record-breaking architectural marvels, showcasing its uniqueness and creativity.
The Link, spanning an impressive 230 meters in length, bisects One Za’abeel’s skyscrapers at a height of 100 meters above the ground, with its record-breaking cantilever extending 67.277 meters beyond the main tower of the development. The engineering, construction, and assembly of The Link were accomplished in two phases over a total of 16 days without causing disruption to the four lanes of live traffic below. During phase one, one of the heaviest lifts in the region was performed, raising the steel structure weighing over 8,500 tonnes into place over 12 days, utilizing over 110 special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks and requiring the concerted effort of a team of global experts in construction, engineering, and contracting. Phase two involved the lifting of the 900+ ton cantilevered structure into place over four days.
Hovering above the city, The Link’s monumental 230 meters is home to eight Michelin-inspired restaurants, the UAE’s longest suspended infinity pool, and a chic destination bar, providing 360º views of the Emirate of Dubai. The Link is rapidly establishing itself as a must-visit destination in Dubai, offering visitors the opportunity to indulge in luxurious fine dining experiences and breathtaking views.
