Hitches & Glitches (H&G), a UAE-based home maintenance company, has reported a substantial rise in demand for its services within Dubai’s luxury residential sector.
As part of the Farnek Group, H&G has secured contracts in high-end areas such as Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai Hills Estate. A notable project includes a villa in Jumeirah Bay Island with a built-up area of 7,200 square metres.
Zohaib Azhar, director of operations at H&G, noted, “According to propertyfinder.ae, a 2,237 square metre plot of land in Jumeirah Bay Island is currently valued at AED 155 – 160 million, excluding the cost of construction. Given such a significant investment, these discerning owners understand the need for regular high-quality management and preventative maintenance, especially if they are away from their homes for extended periods.”
Currently, H&G manages 900 premium apartments and hotel residences across Downtown Dubai, Dubai Creek Harbor, and Dubai Marina. The company’s home maintenance division oversees over 1,500 annual maintenance contracts, valued at more than AED 22 million.
Knight Frank’s research shows that Dubai’s luxury residential market is growing rapidly. In the first quarter of this year, more than 100 properties sold for over $10 million, marking a 19 percent increase from 2023.
Azhar added, “We noticed this trend over two years ago when wealthy overseas investors began buying luxury properties in Dubai. We established a specialized unit with highly trained technicians to cater to this niche market, offering a comprehensive range of services including MEP, civil work, carpentry, smart home automation, white goods, renovation projects, and fit-out works.”
H&G uses a smart technology platform developed by HITEK to allow property owners to track maintenance progress remotely and has partnered with Ring to provide smart home security products.
Azhar concluded, “There is also a growing demand for smart home gadgets, as advancements in technology have made these devices easier to use and more effective, especially for international investors.”
