Dubai is getting over 17,000 new affordable homes

Dubai is set to welcome over 17,000 affordable homes following a major government announcement this week.

On Wednesday, March 12, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum revealed that 1.46 million square meters of land have been designated for affordable housing.

This land will accommodate exactly 17,080 residential units as part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Masterplan.

The initial phase will focus on six locations across the city, offering budget-friendly rental options alongside high-quality living spaces.

The affordable housing developments will be situated in communities such as Al Mueisim 1, Al Twar 1, and Al Qusais Industrial 5, all positioned near Dubai International Airport.

Additionally, construction will commence in Al Leyan 1, a district near Al Maktoum International Airport on the opposite side of the city.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, stated:

“As part of Dubai’s Affordable Housing Policy, we have approved 1.46 million square meters of land for affordable housing, paving the way for 17,080 new residential units.

“Our commitment is to provide diverse housing options, and we welcome innovative ideas that foster a united and thriving society—Dubai is a city for all.”
